Technology - Leakproofing

DURABLE LEAKTIGHT DRINKING WATER DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS
. The main risk of leaks in drinking water distribution networks comes from the service connections that require twice as many tightness elements as the piping on which they are fitted.
Part supply is less than 1% of the total cost

PACKING CONCEPTS
. Total integration into all drinking water distribution piping, whatever its age, whatever materials it is made of and whatever its diameter
. Large cross-section compression seals
. Wide piping contact surface
. Great reserve of elasticity capable of absorbing the landslides and angular offset resulting from ground movement after installation
Preventing all risk of leakage linked to the life of the network

BEHAVIOUR OF ELASTOMERS
Compression set : Déformation rémanente apres compression
. The elastic properties of rubber that enable leaktightness to be preserved, even with low pressure, may vary depending on weather conditions, temperature and the effects of the fluid on the seal
. Compression set measures this elasticity as shown on the diagram below.

The lower the compression set value (creep), the better the rubber will be.

Controlled compression optimises the elastic properties of seals and provides durable leaktightness. This is ensured by checking the tightening torque of the fastening elements.
